The aim of the campaign was to create awareness among the youth about the importance of hand washing and the associated benefits, as well as to promote good hygiene practices.

During the outreach, children were educated about hygiene and shown the right way of hand washing. Booklets illustrating the correct techniques were presented to the learners, teachers and parents of the participating schools.

Michelle Combrinck, a former teacher and CEO of Zinto said, "If children are taught to remember to wash their hands at important times, such as before and after meals, as well as after sport and play during the day, we can substantially reduce their chances of becoming sick. The simple task of hand washing is one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs."

Zinto used industrial theatre incorporating music and dance as a vehicle to communicate Securex's key brand and educational messages, as well as to create brand associations that were synonymous with cleanliness.

Supplementary workbooks were handed out to the schoolchildren and the creative format was both easy to understand and memorable.

The educational roadshow was run alongside a competition element whereby entrants who handed in completed exercise books stood a chance to win product hampers. The winning school received a cash prize of R5,000.
