World peace anthem video filmed in CT

Nassiri, a global peace icon and singing sensation who is currently filming a music video in 14 countries around the globe, was in Cape Town, 21 - 25 February 2007, as part of his filming schedule. The video features Nassiri with children singing the chorus of his “Love Sees No Color” - the anthem for World Peace Day - in their native languages.

This trip to South Africa singles out the country as a focus on Nassiri’s agenda for peace, love and tolerance. Nassiri comments, “South Africa is such a rich country – rich with its beautiful heritage and its beautiful people. South Africa has the opportunity to show the world all this beauty and every person can make a difference.”

Famous sights

The South African video was filmed at various famous sights around Cape Town and directed by Sunu Gonera, a Zimbabwean-born director and producer who has shot to fame in Hollywood. Gonera came back to SA especially for the filming of the video.

Says Gonera, “I am honoured to be involved in such a special project, I will be able to provide a South African interpretation to this video and people around the world will be able to see what the country is about.”

Larry Jordon, one of the most prolific and accomplished stalwarts in the filmmaking industry, also came out from the US to work on the video. His credits include Mariah Carey, Dave Matthews Band and Shania Twain few.

No stranger

Nassiri is no stranger to South Africa: last year he wrote and sang a new Happy Birthday song to Nelson Mandela, as well as spending significant time with Madiba discussing South Africa and the massive role the country can play in advocating world peace.

He is also extensively involved in charitable causes in South Africa. Last year, Nassiri made a large donation to the Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund and also ‘adopted’ a children’s aids orphanage in Kelvin, Johannesburg.

The South African Parliament also honoured Nassiri for the message of his “Love Sees No Color” CD and music video and adopted the song as South Africa’s anthem for world peace in June 2006.
