Heart 104.9FM is proud to announce another major addition to their on-air talent pool. Shado Twala now hosts Shado's Sundays from 2pm to 6pm every Sunday.
For Shado, who has held some very high-profile positions over the years, her post on Heart 104.9FM is a homecoming. When the station launched in 1997 as P4, she was part of its line-up.
Shado says that her heart has always been in Cape Town. She says, “Cape Town offers such a wide variety of experiences. There's so much obvious beauty, and also hidden places like Hout Bay. The people are like that too - there are so many different sub-cultures that have managed to keep their own, lovely, identity. Our challenge is to preserve that without stagnating.”
This philosophy is an integral part of Shado's Sundays. In a nod to Heart 104.9FM's origins, the show offers a strong jazz element; without breaking the much more contemporary feel that has seen the station growing its audience in recent times. A progressive exploration of other African artists will give the show a stand-out element that Shado promises will reflect the mood of the day and be a rewarding surprise each Sunday.
Shado Twala's appointment comes close on the heels of recent changes to the daytime personality offering on Heart 104.9FM, and sees them boasting one of the most experienced on-air teams in the country.
