'Rock4Aids' set to roll in Newtown

'Rock4Aids', the annual concert organised and sponsored by advertising agency Joe Public and their patrons, this year boasts 'The Privates, Doris, Helvetica Bold, Mr Barleycorn and Martin Rockar & the Sick Shop. Proceeds go to the Lambano Sanctuary, which provides HIV+ babies with a home for as long as they need one. Unfortunately, for many that means until they die; the more fortunate ones are adopted.

"Come Rock4Aids," urged Joe Public's Pepe Marais, who will be performing with his band, Helvetica Bold. "Even if you don't like the music, you can always console yourself with the knowledge that at least we are singing for a worthy cause! We look forward to seeing you all there. And remember, Rock4Aids makes a wonderful warm-up gig for the Carfax Street Party just a few minutes away in Pim Street."

Arrive on Friday 2 December at Horror Café, 15 Miriam Makeba Road in Newtown. The show starts at 20h00, and costs only R30 at the door.

The Lambano Sanctuary founded in May 2001 by Melanie Streicher and Leon van den Berg. Find out more at www.lambano.co.za.
