The ABF embraces the 80's for its Annual Crazy Golf Day

The ABF Vital Support Fund will host its Crazy Golf day on 16 November at the Kyalami Golf Course. Get dressed for success for this year's theme, any 1980's TV series.
Go back in time and dress up as your favourite 80's TV series character. Choose from the likes of Chips, Magnum PI, Star Trek, Million Dollar Man, Man from Atlantis, Dallas, Hawaii Five-O, Private Benjamin, Airwolf, Knightrider, Who's the Boss, Twilight Zone, Quantum Leap, Night Court, MacGyver or plenty of others.

Fourballs cost a mere R2800 and include green fees, dinner and a great band, Saving Silence.

"Saving Silence is a fantastic band which has been sponsored for the ABF's Crazy Golf Day by Airport Media. We appreciate this very generous gesture," says Sharlene Vallance, ABF executive committee member.

Everyone is welcome to attend the dinner and watch the band, not only the brave golfers! At a cost of only R120 per person, contact Sharlene to book your seat at az.oc.fba@enelrahs.

The ABF's Crazy Golf Day hole sponsors will be tasked with recreating this awesome TV era, with the best hole taking home the coveted trophy.

Fourballs will be asked to perform a one minute activity that will ensure them a mark out of 10 at each hole. There is a R5 per person price to pay for each activity.

"The point is actually to do the activity. This may include some nefarious deeds, but the ABF accepts no liability or responsibility, and most certainly no accountability for anything that you choose to do during the day, in the toilet, or in the car park afterwards," says Vallance.

There are prizes for the most successful Fourball and Best Dressed Fourball. So put on your golfing, drinking and dancing shoes, go crazy and come and have some fun with the ABF.

To book your fourball or sponsor a hole contact Sharlene at az.oc.fba@enelrahs.

ABF DNA

The ABF is a non-profit organisation helping those in the advertising, media and allied industries that have fallen on hard times. Amongst its many contributions, the ABF, in conjunction with Lifeline have a dedicated 24/7 call centre line for people in the advertising, media and related industries who need counselling or treatment for stress, HIV/AIDS and substance abuse problems. The ABF also provides study in the field to deserving, underprivileged students with institutions like the AAA School of Advertising.

Advertising Benevolent Fund
Everyone knows the ABF in the ad industry, well that's how it used to be. With the constant flow of fresh blood being injected into our industry, the ABF has seemed to be left in the forgotten realms of the minds of the veteran crews of advertising.
