ABF elects new President and Vice President in close race

The ABF Vital Support Fund has elected Kerry Sandiford as its new President and Alexander Leibner in the role of Vice President.
Kerry, previously ABF's KwaZulu Natal Chairperson, has been with the organisation for fifteen years. She says, "I am committed and passionate about this organisation and I know I have big shoes to fill. Giles Shepherd, the outgoing president of the ABF has been a source of inspiration to the entire executive committee.

"I am confident that we will continue to do great work for all of those people in the industry who need our support and we call on the media and advertising industry to support us as retrenchments continue."

As the newly elected Vice President, Alexander has been with the ABF since 2010 and in his new role, will fulfil some of Kerry's Johannesburg based duties. Says Alexander,"It's a great honour to be elected in this position. I look forward to the year ahead and to working closely with Kerry and the Executive Committee members. More than ever the industry is in need of the vital support that the ABF provides and we're here to make sure that this continues as it has for over 41 years.

We have some exciting events on the cards for the next few months with the upcoming ten pin bowling event in Rosebank on the 28 July and we're currently chatting to Joe Parkers Comedy Review to host our bursary fundraiser in October and of course we have our Christmas Greetings insert that must still be organised for December."

The ABF Vital Support Fund Executive Committee would like to congratulate the newly elected President and Vice President and wish them every success for the upcoming year.

Advertising Benevolent Fund
Everyone knows the ABF in the ad industry, well that's how it used to be. With the constant flow of fresh blood being injected into our industry, the ABF has seemed to be left in the forgotten realms of the minds of the veteran crews of advertising.
