New property magazine

A new, large format glossy magazine showcasing SA property and lifestyle is scheduled to launch in South Africa (Cape Town initially) in April this year. Brainchild of British entrepreneur Tony Vaughan, a former corporate consultant and project manager, now living in the Western Cape, is launching the magazine based on extensive research and development.

With the high demand for South African property, the industry is becoming an important part of the economy, creating jobs and wealth across all sectors. Property Mag will fill the huge gap in the market by offering a dynamic, new marketing platform to target discerning property buyers and sellers.

The Property Magazine will be run on a free to selected homes distribution model. It will provide a much needed independent focal point for buyers, sellers, investors and industry, with its authoritative yet entertaining market insights. It is quite different to the interior design magazines that currently exist in the market and takes current property advertising options into a whole new dimension.

The bulk of the copies - 45 000 - will be distributed free to selected homes, hotels, tourism centres, airlines in the Western Cape and consulates and embassies worldwide. An initial 5 000 copies will be sold at newsstands throughout the country targeting those with an interest in Cape properties.

It is being produced by Media Nova, a new publishing house based in Greenpoint's Prestwich Street precinct.

The magazine, which is edited by Glenda Nevill, a former Sunday Times' journalist and editor of the Big Issue, will have a interesting mix of news, and useful editorial content featuring trends, unusual homes, finance and legal information around home ownership and will have regular special interest supplements like renovating.
