WAN-IFRA appoints new president, has conference upholding print

Jacob Mathew was elected on Friday, 8 April 2011, as the president of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) by its general assembly of members, held during the its board meeting in Dublin, Ireland and on 6-7 April the association's Printing Summit in Mainz, Germany, reaffirmed print's vital role today and in the future.

IFC invests in new Egypt paper mill

CAIRO: IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is investing to complete the construction of El Motaheda SAE's new paper mill outside Cairo to help create jobs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Egypt.

Dubai Lynx Festival 2011 dates, new venue

DUBAI, UAE: The Dubai International Advertising Festival in 2011 will take place over two and a half days, 27- 29 March and the Dubai Lynx Awards, honouring North Africa and the Middle East's best work in advertising and creative communications, will be held on 30 March. Both events will take place for the first time at the Arabian coast resort, the Madinat Jumeirah, in Dubai.

APEX awards now Cape to Cairo
