Young African Leaders recognised in Tanzania

The president of Zanzibar, Abeid Amani Karume has launched an initiative to recognise the achievements of young African leaders known as the Young African Leaders Awards. President Karume launched the African awards on behalf of chairman of the African Union, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

US, European investors back East Africa International Business Forum

US-based Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), Germany's Afrika-Verein and the French Council of Investors in Africa (CIAN) have announced their support.

Uganda to host COMESA telecom regulators

The Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) is organising a one-day symposium to be attended by telecommunications regulators from the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) member states. This is going to be one of the activities of the commission that would be marking its tenth anniversary on 22 May 2008. Other activities would include launching of a new corporate identity and the logo.
