World cup closing ceremony details

The 30-minute night-time closing ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup will take place at 6.30pm on Sunday, 11 July 2010, at Johannesburg's Soccer City Stadium - ahead of the final. It will be broadcast live in 215 countries to an audience in excess of 500 million viewers, according to the Local Organising Committee (LOC), and will feature 780 cast members and some of South Africa and Africa's top musicians and dancers.

LONDON, UK: A survey of more than 1600 football fans in response to England's departure from the 2010 World Cup has found that 62% are 'ashamed' to be English and just 19% believe Fabio Capello should retain his position as national manager.

A month-long accommodation pricing survey, commissioned by the Minister of Tourism, Marthinus van Schalkwyk, to establish a clear picture of prices throughout the country, has found that Cape Town is set to offer the best value for money during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The survey was carried out by Grant Thornton South Africa.
