World Economic Forum on Africa poised for take off

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / CAPE TOWN, SA: The World Economic Forum has announced that more than 900 participants from 60 countries will participate in the 21st World Economic Forum on Africa in Cape Town, South Africa, 4-6 May 2011. Jacob G. Zuma, president of South Africa, will host the meeting, where participants will gather to deliberate under the theme From Vision to Action, Africa's Next Chapter.

New green African financing projects

Following a successful second round of fundraising for Africa's green economy, held 4 November 2010, the African Carbon Asset Development Facility (ACAD) announced seven green financing projects. It convened the African Bankers' Carbon Finance and Investment Forum in association with the UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA).
