Samsung's internet enabled TV hits East Africa market

Samsung Electronics has unveiled a flat-panel TV with a provision to access content on various websites, in East Africa. The 29mm LED TV was launched in Kenya at the end of June.

Big Brother Africa 4 doubles prize money

A new season of the reality show, Big Brother Africa will begin in September 2009, according to M-Net. Big Brother Africa: The Revolution has undergone a makeover with the prize money doubled, now standing at US$200,000. Open castings are planned for 18 cities in the 14 participating countries.

MTV base calls on designers, doodlers

MTV base is calling designers to enter a creative project in assembling an African Urban Dictionary using flash cards that will compile a deck. Each card will be individually designed by artists with the aim of connecting with the youth culture across Africa.

Sales director appointed for CNN Africa

Al-Saiegh is responsible for overseeing CNN's sales teams across Africa, the Middle East and the UK. as well as a network of representatives throughout the region.

2010 media training programme underway in Senegal
