Voetspore team tracks West Africa

SABC2 has announced the return of, reality show, Voetspore. The team consists of six individuals who travelled from Gansbaai to Gabon, with Johan Badenhorst leading the team, as they travel from Casablanca to the Cape with three 4x4's. The aim is to travel to Cape Town, South Africa in less than 100 days.

Air Malawi's survival dependant on public

Air Malawi CEO Wisdom Mchungula has confessed that the debt-riddled airliner is surviving by the mercy of Malawian public. The CEO made these confessions in the presence of the Malawi Parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance in Lilongwe last week.

SA, Zimbabwe to benefit from US$60m hotel expansion

African Sun Limited announced on Tuesday, 8 September 2009, its expansion plans for its local and Zimbabwe operations to meet the influx of fans for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Totalling US$ 60 million, it will raise the hospitality group's capacity to 8500 rooms by 2012 from the current 3000 rooms.

SA Tourism hosts trade workshop in Nigeria

South African Tourism's current marketing campaign in Nigeria is not centred primarily on the forthcoming FIFA World Cup next year in South Africa, says Phumi Dhlomo, SA Tourism regional director: Africa and Domestic Markets. The campaign also aims to further drive tourists' into the the country after the event.

South Africa seduces Kenyan travellers

South Africa Tourism launched a 2010 FIFA World Cup Campaign in Kenya exactly one year before the event. Last week, the annual one-day South African Trade and Consumer Show took place in Kenya and was attended by representatives from the South African travel industry who highlighted ways to increase business and leisure traffic to SA for the sporting event.
