Cape Town course set for June and July

Vacancies still exist for the Quo Vadis Organisational Communications course being held in Cape Town in mid year. The course, which has become a firm favourite amongst Corporates and NGOs respectively, runs over six days in June and July. A break between the two three-day sessions enables participants to complete course work and gain valuable on-hand experience.

Kate Bapela presides over African PR conference

South Africa's chief electoral communicator, Kate Bapela, will preside over the 22nd All Africa Public Relations Conference to be held in Gambia from 24 -27 May 2009 at the Sheraton Hotel. Bapela is the first female president of the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA).

Hat-trick for MS&L

MS&L South Africa, a member of the Leo Burnett Group, has been awarded the Elecrama India account, hot on the heels of winning the Brand South Africa and Bafana Bafana accounts. These wins come after an 18-month repositioning of the agency, including its adoption as the hub for Africa for the global MS&L network.

43 countries enter 2009 IPRA Golden World Awards

The 2009 IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence, has this year received 342 entries from 43 countries including Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. The awards will be presented at the GWA Gala Dinner taking place in London on 29 October, 2009.

2009 IABC African Quill winners announced

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Africa Quills Awards took place at Investec Bank in Menlo Park, Pretoria, South Africa on 27 March, 2009. Corporate Affairs Divisional Manager of DaimlerChrysler and Gold Quill judge Sejamothopo Motau acted as emcees. Local Gold Quill co-ordinator and IABC Chapter President for Pretoria, Mari Lee, presented the awards.
