Foreign newspapers to be banned in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) has reportedly enlisted the service of the police in a bid to stop foreign newspapers without local offices from circulating. Publications that might be affected include: The Sunday Times, Mail & Guardian, Business Day and The Zimbabwean.

TV monopoly to stay

The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) will not be issuing out private television licences any time soon despite mounting pressure to do so, saying its main focus is on meeting the Southern African Development Community (SADC) deadline on the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting.
