I was not in the least bit surprised to hear that the BBC and SKY News had put a stop to their journalists breaking news on Twitter.

Editorial shuffles at Independent Newspapers

Independent Newspapers announced several senior editorial changes yesterday, Monday, 6 February 2012. Tony Howard, CEO of Independent News & Media South Africa, said the appointments were part of significant editorial changes in the group, which sees the elevation of a number of the group's talented young journalists into senior editor roles on some of its established titles.

Research, commissioned in 2011 to understand better the shifts in readership, demographics and spend patterns of community newspapers, was released yesterday, Thursday, 2 February 2012, by Ads24, the national advertising sales division of Media24 newspapers and digital properties. Compass 2012 is the first update since the release of Compass24 2008.
