The Eco Rangers project is an initiative of Pikitup, the City of Johannesburg's waste management entity. The project was conceived as a platform to raise awareness and educate young children about environmental issues, their impact and how these can be managed into the future.

Twinsaver, TuGo partner for toy drive

From April to September 2013, Twinsaver Luxury will be collaborating with TuGo with a nationwide campaign that includes an in-store promotion at major retailers. TuGo Free-Play is a stand-alone construction set that encourages children to explore their imaginations by piecing together waste products such as cores, cling wrap and foil, to create a masterpiece. The campaign aims to raise awareness about these educational toys, recycling and raise funds for a charitable cause, Cotlands.

Gogo Trust spreads love, employment

The Gogo Trust, which officially registered in January 2010, is now in its fourth year of operations. The trust continues on its mission to spread warmth and happiness by commissioning senior women ('gogos') in townships to knit woolly beanies for corporates and charities in South Africa.

Fashion retailer helps Western Cape school kids

Thanks to a donation made by Cape Town fashion retailer and entrepreneur Mark Lifman, R250,000 worth of school trousers were handed over to Mandisa Monakali and Ella Monakali-Mangisa of Ilitha Labantu, an NGO operating in disadvantaged communities throughout the Western Cape.

Omo environmental campaign opens in schools

The Omo Liquid 2013 schools campaign is continuing its environmental journey by educating and encouraging the switch from a hot to a cold wash cycle, through its schools' challenge, where more than 500 participating will be challenged to collect as many empty Omo liquid bottles as possible as a pledge for the switch to a cold wash.
