Awarded by SAPICS (Association for Operations Management of Southern Africa), they aim to encourage the continuous improvement of the body of knowledge, address the skills shortage in the profession and to encourage the sharing of knowledge between organisations and individuals.

Astrapak optimists are betting heavily on the new chief executive Robin Moore's ability to restore the troubled packaging firm to health. Reflecting this confidence, Astrapak is trading on a 75,5 price:earnings ratio despite a 61% fall in headline earnings per share for the year to February and a 90% fall in earnings over the past three years.

SA is part of the GWC network of the top 10 wine producing and wine tourism regions in the world, as judged annually by the GWC.

Two Oceans increases sales to Finland

Sales to Finland of Two Oceans wines grew by double digits year-on-year for the 12 months to March 2013, making this the third largest market for the brand. Canada remains its biggest market, followed by South Africa.

Atlantis City Shopping Centre sold for R334 million

Atlantis City Shopping Centre in the Western Cape has been acquired by Synergy Income Fund Limited for approximately R334 million, making it the fund's largest single property investment since listing in December 2011. The retail centre is expected to transfer on 1 September 2013.

Johann Fourie now chief winemaker at KWV
