Namibia court gives Wal-Mart thumbs up

The world's largest retailer Wal-Mart has confirmed that the High Court of Namibia has unanimously upheld its application to invalidate all conditions attached by the Namibian Competition Commission on its approval of the proposed acquisition of Massmart (MSM).

Refugees can now own bank accounts

Refugees and asylum permit holders in South Africa will from now on be able apply for bank accounts in the country, the Home Affairs Department announced on Thursday, 11 November 2010.

Trade restrictions placed on Namibian commodities

The veterinary import permits for venison, beef, mutton and goat meat not slaughtered at South African approved abattoirs have been cancelled following the outbreak of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) in Namibia.
