Malawi to host 7th AIMS Summit

Government differs with MISA on arrested journo

The government of Malawi have reacted to the arrest of Justice Mponda, an online journalist, saying it is becoming increasingly concerned with the false publication by Malawi Voice where the journalist worked for. Mponda has since been released on bail by the Lilongwe Senior Magistrates Court.

Police arrest online journo

The Malawi police have arrested Justice Mponda, an online journalist from the Malawi Voice, in the early hours of Monday, 15 October 2012, and charged him on three accounts of insulting the president, false publications and criminal libel.

CEO of WIOCC gets listed in the 2012 GTB Power 100 listing

The Global Telecoms Business magazine has released the 5th annual GTB Power 100 listing, that names the 100 most powerful people in the global telecommunications industry. Chris Wood, CEO of Nairobi-based WIOCC has been ranked at number 79.
