Cracking e-commerce and sustainable fashion

The DHL E-commerce MoneyAfrica conference kicked off in Cape Town on Wednesday, offering attendees two jam-packed days of insights relating to all things e-commerce.

I bring you feedback from Jonathan Neumann's keynote on how to crack e-commerce conversion. And Maroefah Smith shares Lincoln Mali's advice for unlocking the potential of data in enhancing customer experience, as well as key takeaways from Sven Schoof's talk on how AI can connect customers to your brand. More conference feedback coming your way next week!

Then on to fashion, I had the honour of sitting down with SA icon Jackie Burger to talk about the fashion business accelerator she's currently involved with and how the industry is slowly becoming more sustainable.

In other top news Toys 'R' Us is going out of business, shutting all of its 735 toy stores and Babies 'R' Us stores in the US after a failed turnaround. And Gemalto's David Noel Lardin explains that although tech developments will continue to revolutionise the payment industry across the globe, local conditions will dictate exactly how (and if) global trends affect African markets.

Oh, and a happy 59th birthday to Barbie!
