Inspiring excellence

After 23 years at the helm of Truworths, CEO Michael Mark will be stepping down in June next year. In the meantime, the company will be hunting for a suitable candidate to fill Mark's shoes - could it be you?

The SACSC held its annual congress in Cape Town last week, where SA's best-of-the-best in retail design and development was honoured at the 2014 RDDAs. Broll Property Group also launched its Retail Consumer Survey at the congress, revealing that South African's still love brick 'n mortar shopping.

Having celebrated World Entrepreneurship Day last week, Gareth Pearson says we need to take entrepreneurship up a notch; and Sanjeev Orie explains how loyalty programmes can assist SMMEs in reducing costs.

Finally, Jason Frichol gives kudos Unilever for creating a new consumption occasion for Magnum that will keep consumers purchasing the premium ice-creams throughout winter, while also looking at what went wrong with the campaign execution.

Have an inspired week!
