Responsible for the Buyers’ Guide and “Free for You” giveaway advertisements in Huisgenoot, YOU, and DRUM magazines. This includes: - Translation, proofreading, and editing of advertisements - Copy writing - Working closely with the DTP and clients to ensure all material is designed and approved by clients and that the correct advertisements are published in the correct issue - Responsible for the page layout of the Buyers’ Guides and checking book plans to ensure correct placement of material - Making sure that all advertisement paperwork and payments are in order - Working closely with sales representatives from around the country and the booking controllers to ensure that all bookings are done within set deadlines Other responsibilities include: - Translation, proofreading, editing, and, as required, copy writing of main body advertisements and inserts - Proofreading, editing, and compiling presentations for sales representatives - Translation, proofreading and editing of various documents, including correspondence with clients - Copy writing, translation, and proofreading of mock-ups requested by clients and sales representatives - Managing workflow between sales representatives, myself, and the DTP to ensure that all deadlines are met - Knowing the ASA code and its current rulings to be able to ensure that advertising are according to their guidelines

Responsibilities at Ipsos included: - Translation and proofreading of physical and telephonic questionnaires ranging in topic from household goods to socio-political matters - Proofreading and editing of presentations - Proofreading and editing of press releases - Translation and proofreading of various documents, including correspondence At Ipsos, I was fortunate enough to be part of the market research done for the 2009 general elections. During my second year at Ipsos, I had the chance to work with international clients and learn how to go about compiling a terminology list for specific market research topics across various official South African languages. During the beginning of 2010, I was sent to Bloemfontein to assist with fieldwork in Thaba Nchu and surrounds for market research regarding the migration and housing of residents during their lives.
