Senior Quality Controller at Prokon SA. We are assigned by DAFF to conduct inspections on all fresh fruit and vegetables on all markets, distribution centers, retail outlets and imports.
I have been involved with production(Rainbow chickens), sales(Nissan Rustenburg), farming(Zambia), fruit processing(Bakkavor) and quality control(Abyx chemicals & Prokon SA) for the past 20 years. I have also been involved with ISO 9001 as well ISO 17020. I am strict but fair in all things i do.Currently i am the manager of the Johannesburg offices for Prokon situated on the Jhb Fresh Produce Market where we conduct inspections on potatoes, stone fruit and avocado's being delivered to the market. We conduct inspections on these produce to ensure that the producers as well as the retail sectors comply with the latest regulations specific to each produce. Furthermore I am managing the process of implementing ISO 17020 at our company together with a consultant from SANAS. We also conduct training sessions for upcoming farmers in South Africa, and in February 2016 we will be conducting a training session for AMTA in Namibia. Opportunities are also being investigated to conduct training to companies in Tanzania and Madagascar.
