Rufai Ladipo has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Scanad Nigeria Limited, the newest subsidiary of marketing services group of Scangroup Limited and partly owned by WPP. Fagbohun Abiodun Mesharck has also been appointed as head of media, while Kenyan Sameer Ambegaonkar has been appointed as managing consultant. The appointments are aimed at supporting the company's growth and expansion strategy in Nigeria.

Organisers of the recent Nairobi International Trade Fair have recorded a 60% increase in revenue following the adoption of a crowd management and ticketing technology. The Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK), organisers of the trade fair were able to stop ticket losses after they adopted a system that uses 2D bar coding system.

Public and private players from various African countries recently met during the third Africa Governance, Leadership and Management Convention 2012 that was held in Mombasa, Kenya. The theme of the convention was: Towards Sustainable Wealth and Job Creation: Challenges and Opportunities for Africa.
