In 2007, business partners Tanya Schreuder and Richard Procter joined the Aegis Media (www.aegismedia.co.za) network to bring the global strategic media-planning and -buying Vizeum brand (www.vizeum.com) to South Africa.
A few short years later, the agency now bills just under R800 million and partners blue chip clients such as Cell C, Santam, BMW, MWeb and Coronation. It is also only one of three South African media agencies to receive an "A" rating from RECMA.
Tanya is celebrating 17 years working in media. Previously, she was group media director of FCB Headspace, media director of FCB Cape Town, a founder member of Nota bene Johannesburg, media manager for Herdbouys McCann Erickson and media planner for Sonnenburg Murphy Leo Burnett.
Not only has she co-written a chapter in the new AMASA textbook, The Nuts & Bolts of Media Planning, she helps run the media course at Vega Cape Town and has been involved in education at Vega for six years.
Richard's 13-year career in media strategy has ensured that he has worked at a number of blue-chip clients in most advertising categories. Prior to Vizeum, he spent five years at Draftfcb as media director and was at Nota Bene and BBDO Cape Town before that. He has a BComm with a post graduate degree in advertising.
For 10 years, Richard volunteered on the AMASA, resigning in early 2012 to set up the Vizeum Johannesburg office. Thanks to his huge passion for education in the media industry, he ran and lectured the media planning course at AAA School of Advertising - Cape Town for the past six years, as well as setting test papers and setting up and judging student projects. He was also involved in bursary development for deserving candidates.
