PRAU Excellence Awards announces winners

[Evan-Lee Courie] Uganda's annual PRAU Excellence Awards, the event that recognises public relations and communications excellence in Uganda, which was set to take place in November 2012, eventually took place on Friday, 22 March 2013 at Imperial Royale Hotel. This years event coincided with the East African Public Relations Conference (EAPRC) which took place from 20-22 March in Kampala, Uganda.

African films to battle it out for an Oscar

[Evan-Lee Courie] In the run up to the 85th Academy Award ceremony taking place in 2013, it has been reported that a record number of 71 submissions have been submitted to compete for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Of this record number, four of the films are from Africa, with Kenya submitting its very first film.

Chad Saaiman, Byron Clarke release debut videos

[Evan-Lee Courie] Recently I had the privilege to attend the launch of not one, but two music videos. That of Chad Saaiman and Byron Clarke, who were both SAMA-nominated artists in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Saaiman's first single, Thinking About You off his second album The Flight, which is to be released in the near future and Clarke's The Rain from his debut album was launched at Living Room in Cape Town.

Before attending, I researched what Between10and5 is really about. It is a platform for agencies, freelancers, illustrators, artists and other creatives to showcase their best work on a daily basis.

[Loeries 2009] Velocity keeps Loeries burning at Ignite

Quantum of Solace - A license to thrill

[Evan-Lee Courie] The character that we all know today as James Bond 007, is a fictional character created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, originally featured in 12 novels and two short story collections. The character as we know, has been used in the second most successful film franchise to date. Forty six years and 21 films later, the current film, Quantum of Solace, will be released here in South Africa on 19th November 2008.
