Media director and founding partner of Full Circle Media (www.fcm.co.za), Karen Phelan cut her teeth on the publishing side of the business at Republican Press (now Caxton Group), Intercontinental Tobacco Company (part of Rembrandt Group) before moving onto the agency side of the business.

Having worked at a small media independent, she moved to The White House and then MediaShop and finally started Full Circle Media, with Agnes Barnard and Grant Fraser, in September 2000. Full Circle Media is owned by Aegis Media.

Karen has over 23 years of experience in the industry and has always focused on the media side and, in particular, her personal love the research side of the business. In addition to her daily business activities, she is also the Cape Town chair of the Advertising Media Forum.
