Jacques van Niekerk has a degree in Communications from RAU and post-graduate qualifications from the AAA/IAA (International Advertising Association).
His career started with Ster-Kinekor Pictures where he looked after the marketing concerns for studios such as Miramax, Polygram and Castle Rock. He joined M-Net's Strategic Development Department, where they worked on the development of interactive television applications. From there he moved into M-Net's marketing department, where he was promoted to Marketing Manager. The next move was to O2 Communications where he joined as Project Director working on the launch of South Africa's first free-to-air broadcaster e.tv.
The lure of the interactive field and ultimately the Internet and its unique marketing opportunities led to Jacques joining Acceleration as CEO in March 2000.
