A brutally fruitful weekend...

[Julia Randle] Ferdinand Rabie has had many ventures since his boskak episode on Big Brother way back in 2001, but this one, I must admit, has potential. I spent this weekend in Worcester for the Forbidden Fruit festival. Sure it's not the endless fields of Rocking the Daisies or the Breede River mumbling on by at Up the creek, but its got - well - beer. Loooots of beer - and that's all you need really!

Tapas of a Geisha

[Julia Randle] Last night Ruth, Sindy and I had the pleasure of testing out the new Winter Wellness menu at the trendy Geisha Wok and Noodle Bar in Greenpoint. Well renowned Irish chef, Conrad Gallagher has put together a menu that is delightfully light in comparison to the usual heavy winter dishes.

A taste of Disney cheese with High School Musical 3

[Julia Randle] High School musical 3 is the epitomy of the Disney pre-teen flick. It's got a pretty guy…I mean pretty…kinda in the same way Jared Leto is pretty…yet HOT…mmmm!…*cough…anyway…a pretty guy, a sweet girl and a LOT of singing. A lot. Did I mention that there was singing? And dancing too. Oh yeah!

Under the Influence

[Julia Randle] Thursday night and Ruth and I managed to get ourselves a touch of drama, action, comedy and of course, love…well, at least from the cast of ‘ Under the Influence of Love'. The theme for the evening was black, white and red and seeing as there was a prize for best dressed man, woman and couple, we decided to make an effort. Ruth pulled out a shnazzy dress while I donned, well a moustache. OK, so it was a couples evening and we didn't want to feel excluded! And anyway, I can pull off a good a ‘double 0' and a martini…shaken, not stirred' any day.
