 [Zeenat Ebrahim] A mediocre black comedy centred on two families whose differences are apt to adopt a 'chalk and cheese' label. Jumping the broom is every bit as literal as the phrase suggests and stems from a family tradition that symbolises 'tying the knot'.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] Described as the most unexpected comedy ever conceived The Switch gives us a break from the usual fly-by-night romances that build castles in the sky and have no basis in reality.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] People expect happy endings and that's what we give them but is this really 'Life As We Know It?' Do the tragic circumstances of an accident leaving an orphaned baby in the care of their respective best friends hold a reality spectrum for falling in love? Anyway, that aside, this is a pleasant romantic comedy with a predictable outcome but one that we can enjoy.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] Martial arts films have always gained my preference and Jackie Chan couldn't have been a better choice for a remake of the renowned 1984-film, The Karate Kid with Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Mr Miyagi (Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita).

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] Shirley Adams is a local production directed by Oliver Hermanus starring Denise Newman as the lead. The film won the best feature film award at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAS) held at the State Theatre in Pretoria on 20 Feburary. Hermanus also picked up the best director award and his lead actress Denise Newman the best actress award.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] Although this action-comedy is not destined to make it to the Top Ten list it has enough visual aesthetics with the likes of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz to keep you interested. There isn't anything spectacular about it and I thought it lacked a little depth.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] After setting the trend with the debut of Sex and the City: The Movie, it was a disappointment to find that its sequel was nothing more than a lavish expense of landscape and fashion frilled with issues from four girlfriends who jet-set to Abu Dhabi and dig their heads in the sand.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] When I saw the title 'The Boys Are Back' I envisioned something adventurous going down LA-style but after doing some research it was pretty clear that this was going to be a little more subtle and sentimental than a group of guys doing something drastic.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] After experiencing a surge of romantic comedies and drama on the big screen it was a pleasure to be entertained by a medieval tale that will undoubtedly transcend the sands of time.

 [Zeenat Ebrahim] In Date Night, a case of mistaken identity turns around a boring married couple's attempt at a romantic evening into something more dangerous and thrilling. Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire Foster (Tina Fey) chose the wrong place at the wrong time and soon they find themselves in anything but a boring routine.
