Africa Travel Summit looks at tourism and technology
The 2018 Africa Travel Summit was recently held at Guga S'thebe in Langa, Cape Town. Organised by Airbnb, the summit looked at how tourism and technology can enable economic empowerment all across the African continent.
More than 30 high profile speakers and panellists participated in discussions on the subject. The opening keynote was delivered by Chris Lehane, Head of global policy and public affairs at Airbnb, who unveiled a new report on how the Airbnb platform is promoting travel that is local, diverse, and inclusive in South Africa.
