Volvo Golf Champions 2013
Volvo is one of the world's leading companies with hallmarks that include innovation and first-class quality. Reflecting both of these strong attributes, the Volvo Golf Champions was launched in 2011 as the first-ever true tournament of champions on the European Tour.
The Volvo Golf Champions serves as the curtain-raiser to the year-long, multinational golfing circuit and features an elite field of proven winners. Entry is restricted to those who have either won an event on the European Tour in the previous year or who are long-term champions who have won ten or more titles during their career. As such, it features those who are in form and emerging onto the world's stage, as well as some of golf's most popular, well-known and established stars.
As the 2013 Volvo Golf Champions makes a South African stop-over at the beautiful Durban Country Club, competition is sure to be strong with a very impressive list of players having qualified to play in it. All of this year's Major winners have qualified including current Open champion, the host nation's Ernie Els, as well as all but one of the victorious European Ryder Cup Team.
