Chris Brown in three-city tour of SA

Singer, songwriter, actor, rapper, dancer, and recording artist Chris Brown will be bringing his Carpe Diem world tour to South Africa this year. He will be playing at the Coca Cola Dome, Joburg on 15 December, then the Outer Fields, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban on 17 December and two concerts at the Grand West Arena, Cape Town on 19 and 20 December, 2012.

Brown's world tour begins on 17 November in Norway and continues to 12 major European cities including Stockholm, Stuttgart, Basel and Paris before touching down on African soil.

In 2005, 16-year-old Chris Brown emerged from Tappahannock, Virginia. His career rose swiftly, as his promising skills drew comparisons to his idols Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.

Double-Platinum first album

His eponymous debut album, which was certified double-Platinum sold over 3 million copies. As his career catapulted so too did his list of awards and accomplishments including three 2006 Billboard Awards, a Soul Train Award, two BET Awards, 2007 and 2008 Teen Choice trophies, three 2008 American Music Awards, four 2008 BET Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, a 2008 NAACP Award for Outstanding Male Artist, a 2008 World Music Award for World's Best Male R&B Artist, two Grammy nominations including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for Take You Down and two People's Choice Awards.

Chris Brown's number one hits include the Platinum-plus status With You, Forever, and Kiss Kiss (featuring and produced by T-Pain). Last year he released "F.A.M.E" with hit songs like Next To You (featuring Justin Bieber and "Yeah3x"). The album was awarded a Grammy for Best R&B album and won the Album Of The Year prize at the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards. F.A.M.E also went all the way to the number one spot on the US Billboard 200 list. In July this year, Brown released his fifth album entitled "Fortune". Featuring the hit song Don't Wake Me Up, the album has been topping the US lists.
