Introduction to web design

The Introduction to Web Design programme equips students with software skills in
Adobe ActionScript for Flash, Dreamweaver and Flash.

This 15-week programme presents a professional, creative edge in that students are trained in how to apply the software to relevant communication mediums. Design skills training is delivered in tandem with digital training to ensure students gain hands-on, real-world confidence and skill in web design.

Digital media training through Vega offers a unique environment in which to explore your creativity and develop the relevant digital skills widely used in the design and communications industry.

All classes are taught by qualified professionals in the field of digital media and design, and are delivered in our digital labs that are equipped with top-of-the-range Apple Macs and the latest software packages.

Learning Unit 1
Internet protocols and services (http, ftp,hosting, etc.).
Hand-code simple web pages.
Prepare graphics for websites.
Create websites using Adobe
Dreamweaver.

Learning Unit 2
Create animated, multimedia-rich
website content using Adobe Flash.
Create interactive Flash media using
basic ActionScript.

Learning Unit 3
Learn best practices for different web technologies.
Control a website's behavioural layer using basic JavaScript.
Combine front-end website technologies using combined HTML, CSS, Flash.
