Women of Vision receives US $7500 grant from Hyatt Thrive

The Hyatt's global corporate responsibility platform, Hyatt Thrive, has given South African group, Women of Vision a US $7500 grant to further the organisation's efforts in education and personal advancement. The group has also launched #SHARINGJOY, a fundraising social media campaign.

The grant is one of this year's 26 awarded to non-profits nominated by the group's hotels in their communities around the world, as part of Hyatt Community Grants, a philanthropic programme that empowers the group's associates to select local non-profit recipients for charitable donations.

Sharing Joy

In addition to supporting the local community causes championed by its hotels, the group is also inviting associates, guests, neighbours and community partners to help in #SHARINGJOY by supporting global education and literacy programs and providing a launching point for learning and success, which is the foundation of the corporate philanthropy program, Ready to Thrive.

The group is committed to #SHARINGJOY this holiday season by providing an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for international literacy non-profit, Room to Read.

Recipients of the group's holiday e-card are invited to post a special message on Facebook, Twitter and Weibo that includes the hashtag #SHARINGJOY. The group has already pledged $25,000 to Room to Read to help build new school libraries and establish reading mentoring programs in India and will match each new #SHARINGJOY post with an additional $1 donation - up to $75,000 - to help reach the company's goal of $100,000.
