Robin Petersen is CEO of newly formed SAFA Development Agency

According to Allafrica.com, South African Football Association (SAFA) President, Kirsten Nematandani, has confirmed that current CEO, Robin Petersen "would take immediate and complete responsibility for establishing and driving the SAFA Development Agency" which, Nematandani says, aims to ensure that South Africa achieves its vision to be consistently in the top three in African football and in the top 20 in the world by 2022.

Under Petersen's direction, Nematandani said, the Association is back on track and its business turnaround strategy is now poised to deliver on its mandate. He added that the Association now seeks to ensure success on the pitch on an ongoing basis. Nematandani said that Petersen has successfully driven the development of the SAFA Technical Master Plan, as approved by the SAFA managing bodies."

Petersen will now become the CEO of the Development Agency, Nematandani said, adding that SAFA has asked current COO, Dennis Mumble, to serve as Acting CEO and focus on the support required to host AFCON 2013 whilst the Development Agency CEO needs to concentrate on setting up the Agency and raising the necessary funding, Allafrica.com reports.
