The Profile Awards aim to develop, nurture and advance quality science and technology reporting. The belief is that quality reporting will empower African communities through the spread of knowledge. Another objective of the Awards is to foster connection between African media, who are often reporting on similar issues. Essentially, the Awards are a platform for dialogue and interaction.

The Profile Awards took place in Cape Town on the 24th October 2012. This is the 3rd award that has won this year.
