Mandi Fine, chief executive officer of F/NE will recruit a panel of industry experts who will assemble this September to review entries and help determine the 2018 Global Awards shortlist. Shortlisted entries will be judged at the live executive jury judging session taking place 17 October in New York City.

Collaborative forum for local agencies

“Live judging sessions are a fabulous way of staying in touch with the World’s best creative work and trends, but also allow a collaborative forum for local agencies,” said Fine.

“The expansion of the Global Awards live sessions expand our roots a bit further around the world so entries from all over can be viewed and discussed by the top minds in healthcare and wellness and pharma advertising by region and varying cultures. The result is an exported version of their bar for creative excellence, with the side benefit of collaboration and potential future partnerships to tackle additional local or continental issues and initiatives.” said Fran Pollaro, executive director, Global Awards.

“We seldom have opportunities in the local market to network and collaborate and the live judging brings us together in a unique way, where we can discuss elevating the standards, and discuss regional specific issues, added Fine.”

Data science, technology and AI trends

The Globals organise annual live judging sessions around the globe to review digital-based works as well as collateral materials that support a campaign, and which cannot be judged online. Live sessions are hosted at prominent international healthcare communication agencies and allow jurors to examine in detail multi-paged works including: sales kits, direct mail, brochures, point of purchase displays, and annual reports and select entries that will achieve shortlist status.

Global Awards jurors will have a front-row seat to the emerging trends and innovative technology advertisers employ on behalf of the brand.

“We imagine the trends of data science, technology and AI will emerge in entries this year and will push the boundaries of what is possible,” said Fine. “We are seeing the ‘collaboration’ of different industries and players coming together to create award-winning and life-changing work. These collaborations create innovations that previously have not been possible. That said, simplicity and compelling storytelling are trends that always prevail and will continue to be important in judging in 2018.”

Executive and grand juries will be announced soon

The Global Awards grand jury of prominent international healthcare and wellness executives will assemble this September around the world to judge creative work submitted to the 2018 competition. For 2018, the Global awards has organised 5 additional live grand jury sessions with international healthcare agencies in Sydney, London, Chicago, Mumbai, and Sao Paulo.

Judging sessions will also take place online, allowing entries to be viewed comprehensively by an international jury from regions with both established and growing healthcare markets. Jury selection is underway and both executive and grand juries will be announced in the coming weeks.

2018 Global Award winners will be announced this November at celebrations in New York City and Sydney Australia.
