Brett Wild pokes fun at hardworking car dealersHammersmith and Elephant director Brett Wild recently delivered a third season of hilarious spots for the General Motors Red Tag Sales event. Working off a wonderfully simple premise the ads offer up hilarious consequences to the fact that "our salespeople haven't been home much lately". A pair of salesman who have taken to sleeping over at the dealership due to long hours, a father who doesn't recognise his daughter and tries to sell her a new Chevy Spark and a salesman's wife who... well, let's say she's been busy too. "The scripts were simple and brave and the agency and client were too. Theres nothing worse than when a good script is watered down during the process because it may just be... funny. The good people at McCann and GM were fantastic," said Wild. The campaign doesn't let up in surprise and teeth-grating antics, and Brett has handled them with a subtle balance that holds the humour in good stead," remarks Exec Producer Byron Grant who had to put the production and Wild's demands together in a record amount of time. "There were certainly challenges in convincing a hospital to allow us to shoot in a real functioning labour ward, as well as in ensuring a brand spanking new baby arrived just in the nick of time on our busy schedule."
