Study via the convenience of distance learning at the IMM Graduate School of Marketing
Registration for Semester Two is still open at the IMM Graduate School of Marketing (IMM GSM) - the centre of excellence for marketing education and learning in southern Africa. The IMM GSM assesses delivers and confers highly-respected, recognised programmes in marketing and marketing-related disciplines.
Students may study for the Certificate in Retail Marketing or Sales Management, the Diploma in Marketing or the Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) (BBAM) via the flexibility and convenience of distance learning. Students register directly with the IMM GSM and can study towards a qualification anywhere, globally.
Distance learning or "self-directed learning," instils self-discipline as students have to learn how to best manage their time around their varying responsibilities and roles.
The IMM GSM promotes the concept of life-long learning - students develop the trait of self-directed learning and take responsibility for creating their own opportunities. Distance learners gain new skills and knowledge which can be immediately applied in the workplace, while improving their work performance. As a mode of delivery, distance learning ultimately equips learners to become responsible owners and managers of their own learning process as they monitor, evaluate and regulate their cognitive learning strategies.
Learners at the IMM GSM are encouraged to plan their studies by providing them with structured assessment timeframes and timeously allocated assignments per semester, which contribute towards their examination mark and are not isolated exercises.
In addition to prescribed textbooks, the mode of distance learning is facilitated by means of subject-specific learner guides that have been developed to direct learners through their independent learning process. And while they progress with the syllabus at their own pace, exercises and self-evaluations further permit them to monitor their progress.
Students may select the option of supporting their learning process by enrolling for tuition support on a full-time or part-time basis at one of the IMM GSM-approved Student Support Centres, which offer selected IMM GSM programmes. Students register directly with the IMM GSM, which confers the qualification.
Everyone should have a marketing foundation, as this may just be their competitive advantage as a player in a globally competitive market. And once the individual has achieved a qualification from the IMM GSM, he/she can enter the business world and find a vast scope of career opportunities.
