Big sellers on bidorbuy
Besides being the platform on which individuals or home businesses sell used or new, unique or mass produced, expensive or affordable items, bidorbuy is also becoming a place where established companies come to showcase and sell their wares.
The influx of corporate sellers on bidorbuy started with car dealerships. Recently, other big sellers joined: companies specialising in selling books, computers, electronics, console games, and so on.
They come to bidorbuy, South Africa's largest online trading place, because that way their products are seen by more potential buyers. bidorbuy is among the top ten local sites accessed by South Africans. The site has almost two million visits per month, generated by over 900,000 unique visitors.
The companies that have their own online shopping carts can easily integrate with bidorbuy and have selected products featured there.
“We want to make it easy for big merchants to sell their products on bidorbuy at fixed prices”, says bidorbuy managing director Andy Higgins. “This is beneficial for everybody concerned. Companies that sell on bidorbuy get extra exposure, which translates into more sales. As for bidorbuy, the presence of corporate sellers enriches the offering on the site, which in its turn attracts more visitors and more shoppers. And that is a good thing for both our individual and corporate sellers.”
Due to the nature of this online trading platform, bidorbuy presents a level playing field for all sellers, regardless of their size. “Individual sellers and home businesses can show themselves to be as professional and credible as their larger competitors”, says Higgins.
Sellers on bidorbuy, whether big or small, do not incur any extra expenses, because the basic listings are free of charge. The sellers pay a small commission - up to five percent of the selling price - only once their product is actually sold.
