Charity concert to brighten children's hearts

On Thursday, 26 June the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra will take centre stage at this year's Die Burger Gala Concert, to be held at the Cape Town City Hall.
Well-known Durban conductor Lykele Temmingh and the exciting young soprano Golda Schultz, will feature in this year's annual charity concert in aid of Die Burger Children's Fund.

Miss Schultz made her debut a few weeks ago with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Christ on the Mount of Olives (Beethoven) in the Grootte Kerk.

Besides well-known shorter orchestral pieces, the programme includes a wide variety of popular arias, amongst others, “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi, the Czardas from The Fledermaus by Johann Strauss and Dvorak's “Song of the Moon” from Rusalka. The array of popular orchestral works will include "Adagio” from Nutcracker Suite (Tchaikovski), Schubert's Military Mars and Dvorak's Humoresque.

Tickets are limited and available at Computicket.
