Final countdown to EXSA Conference

The Exhibition Association of Southern Africa’s second annual conference takes place on 8 and 9 February 2007 at the Riverside Hotel on the Vaal River. ‘Gearing up for Growth’, the theme for this year’s event, is especially relevant in the build-up to the 2010 Soccer World Cup with the opportunities that this holds for the exhibition industry.
The Exhibition Association of Southern Africa’s (EXSA) first annual conference, hosted in 2006, was positively received, resulting in almost double the number of delegates set to attend this year’s event.

EXSA’s chairperson, Carol Weaving, believes that the 2007 conference will build on last year’s success: “We have an unbelievable line-up of local and international speakers with a wealth of knowledge and experience. The conference promises to be an enlightening and entertaining experience for delegates.”

At the conference, Weaving will be presenting the results of EXSA’s recent research study on the economic impact of the South African exhibition industry. The research, conducted by Grant Thornton, establishes the size, value and growth rate of the industry. She will also present AC Nielsen’s ad spend figures for the exhibition medium.

EXSA’s general manager, Mandy O’Connor, says: “In preparing for an event such as this, we strive to ensure that the information is current and topical and that the content generates fresh ideas and concepts for the delegates.”

EXSA’s AGM will take place on the second day of the conference. The association’s 2007 Executive Committee will be elected at the meeting.

EXSA is grateful to the sponsors who have contributed to the event: Conference Computers; Conference Gear, a Division of Gearhouse South Africa; Event Pics; Green Exhibition Services cc; JHB Expo Centre; LP Unlimited; Oasys Innovations Ltd; Plasmaview Technologies; Scan Display Solutions; the Coca-Cola dome; Thebe Exhibitions and Events.
