Musica hits the right note

The latest Musica offering from The Jupiter Drawing Room Cape Town is a rock 'n roll frenzy of angry musical notes bashing out a Metallica medley.
Rather than punting a conventional retail angle, this advertisement emphasises Musica's brand image. Conceptually, the creative team were briefed to highlight the fact that Musica understands rock music - in the simplest way possible.

"Eliminating all elements of metaphor and ambiguity, we approached Wicked Pixels to animate a very graphic depiction of the term 'Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n Roll'," says Creative Director, Darren McKay.

"Metallica - recently featured in the nationwide Colab Rock Concerts - were chosen as the ultimate bad boys of rock, and the best example with which to demonstrate the rock star lifestyle," continues McKay.

Through the use of anarchic music notes coupled with the hardcore music itself, the creative team managed to convey the message that Musica does not merely stock music (in this case rock) but actually has an opinion on, and understanding of, each of the various genres on sale.
