Agency appoints new M.D.

Claire Cobbledick has been appointed as the new Managing Director of The Jupiter Drawing Room (Cape Town). She is taking over the reigns from Kevan Aspoas who will now occupy the role of agency CEO.
Cobbledick first joined Jupiter Cape Town as an Account Executive over 13 years ago. She returned in 2005 as the Head of Strategy. Cobbledick has worked in agencies in JHB and Cape Town, as well as having spent some time in marketing, as National Brand Manager for Red Bull. "Her extensive knowledge of the communications industry and the agency's inner workings make her the most fitting person to lead the agency to the future," says Aspoas.

Jupiter has built a formidable reputation for delivering creative solutions to meet real business challenges. The Hyundai success story is one such example. Hyundai, Woolworths, Windhoek Lager and Sanlam are the agency's four largest accounts. In her new role, Cobbledick will focus on broadening and strengthening this creative service to their current and future clients. Jupiter Cape Town has a strong track record in through-the-line communication, which now includes a digital offering, as well as in design. "This needs to evolve as the environment changes," explains Cobbledick "We are exploring business in earned media, content generation and activation - the list changes monthly."

In order to achieve this, she believes that a stimulating and energised working environment is essential. "We need a creative heart that beats hard and fast, so my internal focus is on maintaining an open-minded environment that celebrates diversity and encourages opinion-sharing." Cobbledick adds that there is a strong correlation between the quality of work and staff motivation. "Our competitive advantage is our people and it is the Jupiter culture that keeps them inspired."
