Wheels24 shifts another gear

Media24 Digital's premier niche motoring portal, Wheels24.co.za, has teamed-up with Drive Out magazine to supe-up its 4x4 content hub. In addition, the site has also upgraded its specialised categories for F1 and motorcycles.
Already South Africa's most visited source for motoring news with 224 264 unique browsers, the latest additions to the portal's racy online strategy is set to cement Wheels24's pole position on SA's motoring site grid.

Wheels24 Deputy Editor, Wilmer Müller, explains, "At Wheels24 we continuously strive to provide more value to our readers. Our biggest attraction is the ability to be first with breaking motoring news, often scooping stories and publishing spy photos of future models." Muller moves on to say that the comprehensive Wheels24 photo galleries are also a huge draw card to the site.

"In the next few weeks Wheels24 readers can look forward to an all-new 4x4 offering. Noting an increasing interest in lifestyle activities, we decided to partner with Drive Out magazine to boost our 4x4 expertise," says Müller. This section will subsequently become the Drive Out webpage. Features will include: breaking 4x4 news, vehicle reviews and tried and tested trails in all SA provinces.

Another prominent evolution is the F1 section, offering exclusive daily news and gossip from top racing grid sources. "F1 popularity is on the rise - especially with the dethroning of Michael Schumacher as world champion," adds Müller. Award-winning motoring journalist, Egmont Sippel, provides the often controversial F1 views in the form of a fortnightly column, always popular with readers.

Media24 Digital's niche motoring portal also now boasts a dedicated bikes editor, Brett Hamilton. Well-respected industry expert, Hamilton, delivers all news related to both two and four wheels. Müller explains, "Quad biking has really taken off in SA, judging by the numerous requests for reviews, tips and track listings we've received. This was certainly a motivating factor in expanding the bikes section."

The popular duo of Hamilton and Sippel, overseen by managing editor, John Oxley, several times the SA Motor Guild's Internet Motoring Journalist of the Year, add an overriding journalistic quality to the site, consistently delivering top-quality insight into local and international motoring issues.

"Couple our exciting new additions to the recently launched new and used car search service, Autolist, and we're closer to our vision of catering for the SA motoring aficionado's every conceivable need," concludes Müller.
