At Thursday's Bookmarks Awards, publisher 24.com was awarded one of the most coveted awards - that of Best Publishing House.
Says Geoff Cohen, General Manager of 24.com, who collected the award: "We are honoured to have been acknowledged by our peers in the digital media industry. The award is a highlight for us this year and really inspires us to redouble our commitment to continue growing our digital footprint both locally and across the continent."
24.com also took home the following awards at last week's event: in the Publisher category, Bronze for Channel24 and Silver for Food24, News24 and Health24; in the Mobile Site - Publisher category, Bronze for m.news24.com; in the Handheld/Phone (applications and tools) category, Silver for News24 andin the Multi-Platform Publisher category they received Bronze for News24.
This is not the first time that 24.com has been recognised by The Bookmarks. At the 2010 awards the publishing house received, amongst others, Gold for News24 in the category Publishing Site and in 2009 News24 won the prestigious Black Pixel for Best in Show Publishing Category Award.

As the largest local digital media business in South Africa, 24.com has a significant stake in growing the country's digital media eco-system either through new approaches towards commercial opportunities, show-casing how best digital media can be used in the overall marketing mix, new ways of publishing content or the drive onto mobile devices.
