The Bookmarks, South Africa's premiere digital awards and an initiative of the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) have acknowledged 24.com's outstanding contribution to the industry in 2011 with a whopping nine entries on the finalist's list, the most received by a publishing house.
The awards will be held this evening in Cape Town and 24.com's General Manager, Geoff Cohen, is looking forward to the results. "In a very short time the Bookmark awards have become the benchmark that digital media publishers use to measure themselves against their peers. It is a fantastic opportunity for all participants in the digital industry to present their channels and have them objectively judged. 24.com has had a consistent presence at the winners podium and we are holding thumbs that this continues this evening".
The 2011 Bookmarks nominations for 24.com are: Food24, Channel24, News24 and Health24 in the category Publisher - Mass Appeal; m.news24 in the category Mobile Publisher; News24 in the Handheld/Phone App category; News24 in the Multi-platform Publisher category; Best Editorial Team for News24 and 24.com for the Best Publishing House.
This is not the first time that 24.com has been recognised by The Bookmarks. At last year's awards the publishing house received bronze for Sport24, Silver for Food24 and Gold for News24 in the category Publishing Site; Silver for News24 in the Mixed-Media category and Silver for m.news24 in the Mobile Publisher category. In 2009 News24 won the prestigious Black Pixel for Best in Show Publishing Category Award and a silver for a digital news brand in the Publishing: Integrated Campaign category and Sport24 won the inaugural People's Choice award for Digital publishing.
"We wish all the finalists the best of luck for this evenings proceedings - and hope to see more entries in the following years." adds Cohen.
