24.com would like to congratulate David McKay for the acknowledgement by the Bookmarks for his individual digital editorial contribution to Fin24.com.

Says Geoff Cohen, General Manager of 24.com: "With more than 400 entries across 43 categories, the Bookmarks afford us a great opportunity to bench mark against the very best in the South African digital media industry. This is the first year that the publishing and agency categories have been split, and 24.com is proud to have won five awards. These awards validate our focus on technology, content and community to produce platforms that inform, entertain and engage audiences across Africa. In 2010 the competition was tough and we expect it to get even tougher in the future. Healthy competition is vital to the growth of the industry and a validation of the rapid increase in audience and opportunities for digital media in the local market."

The Bookmarks, hosted by the Digital Media and Marketing Association, is South Africa's premier digital awards showcase, recognising excellence in digital publishing, advertising and marketing.

Judged by local and international industry figureheads from both the digital publishing and advertising disciplines, the Bookmarks seeks to ensure that in these truly global disciplines, South African digital work is constantly developing and internationally competitive.
